Admissions questions, answered

The questions families ask us most before applying to Mona Virtual School.

Which grades does Mona offer?

Mona offers the Kenyan CBC/CBE curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 12, organised as Primary School (Grades 1–6), Junior School (Grades 7–9) and Senior School (Grades 10–12). Mona does not offer Pre-Primary (PP1/PP2).

Is the admissions process fully remote?

Yes. Every step, from application to onboarding, is completed online — families can apply from anywhere.

What device does my child need?

A laptop or desktop computer is recommended as the primary device, especially for Junior and Senior School. A tablet can work for younger learners, but a smartphone should not be relied on as the primary device.

Can my child transfer in mid-year?

Yes, transfers are considered mid-year depending on circumstances, grade availability and placement review. A short academic assessment may be requested.

Is there an admission fee?

Yes, a one-time admission fee of KSh 3,000 is payable once your child's place is confirmed and registration is completed.

Can learners abroad join Mona?

Yes. Families outside Kenya are welcome to apply, provided the learner's schedule and technology needs can be accommodated.
