Child Safeguarding Policy

Our commitment to every learner's safety and wellbeing.

Draft for internal review — not yet legally approved. This page describes Mona Virtual School's current operating practices in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should not be relied on, or shown to families as final, until Mona's leadership approves it.

Our Commitment

Every child who learns with Mona deserves to feel safe, respected and valued. We expect every staff member and teacher to interact with learners professionally, respectfully and appropriately at all times, both during live lessons and in any other contact with the school.

Raising a Concern

Any parent, guardian or learner who has a concern about a learner's safety or wellbeing, or about the conduct of any Mona staff member, should raise it immediately via Contact Us.

The Home Learning Environment

Because lessons take place online, parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their child's immediate physical environment during live lessons.

Decisions Mona still needs to make before this policy is final:

  • This is a placeholder draft only. It does not yet document Mona's actual staff-vetting or background-check procedures, a designated safeguarding lead, or a formal reporting and escalation process — these must be defined and added before this policy can be considered complete.
  • Given how important safeguarding is for a school serving children, this page should be completed with input from Mona's leadership and, ideally, a qualified safeguarding or legal advisor before publication.
